Research

As a global change ecologist, I have expertise in how global change drivers including climate change, pests and disease drive changes in ecosystems, especially forests.

My research interests are broad and interdisciplinary and current interests include:

• Applying functional trait approaches to better understand species and community responses to environmental change. • Using ecosystem resilience theory to understand response to extreme events. • The application of new modelling approaches and data integration/synthesis to study ecosystem responses and functions across varying spatial and temporal scales. • Understanding the potential and limitations of forests as nature-based solutions. • Research syntheses and meta-analyses.
